NOTE: If you would like to ask us a question about one or more of the available opportunities before sending your resume and cover letter, please direct them to ... questions@voicesradio.com

At present, we have several positions with immediate availability on our growing team; all positions are unpaid internships that will require 4-6 hours per week (or more, if scheduling and interest allow!) and offer exposure to and participation in the radio program production process. The positions are as follows:

ASSOCIATE PRODUCER
==============================
You will take primary responsibility for escorting selected writers/artists through the production process, and ultimately build deliverable episodes. Typically working with one writer/artist at a time, such responsibilities can be broken into three stages:

(1) Pre-Studio Preparation: establish initial contact, coordinate the introductory interview, understand the body of work and necessary biographical information; prepare for studio session.
(2) Studio Session: direct writer/artist through the three recordings; read long work, sit for interview, read short work.
(3) Post-Production: edit the recordings with help of technical (ProTools) editors.

ASS'T TO THE EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
===============================
This is a critical role that will require working side-by-side with the executive producer. You will be responsible for several recurring tasks to ensure that the production operates smoothly. In addition, you will help brainstorm and develop ideas to expand the depth and reach of the program. Finally, you will assume management of specific administrative tasks. The commitment is approximately 4-6 hours per week, although most of the work can be done at your convenience. It is a fantastic opportunity to see all aspects of the radio production process.

TECHNICAL EDITOR
==============================
Selected qualified applicants will work side-by-side with associate producers to design and edit our radio programs using ProTools. In addition, they will work closely with our professional sound studio in midtown to make sure that the original recording sessions capture suitable audio at the source, and that the final versions of the radio programs have been mixed / mastered appropriately.

The commitment will be approx 4-6 hours per week; this will consist of 2-3 hours on-site working with the associate editors, and 2-3 hours working independently. You will also be expected to attend the studio recording sessions; there are 1-2 per month that last approx 4 hours.

Please keep in mind that personal interest in the radio program and it's objectives can be just as important as technical ability!

READER
==============================
As one member of a 3-4 person team, you will each read the incoming submissions and select prospective writers for the program. Works include short stories, poetry, stage plays, novel excerpts, etc. This is an opportunity get a "first look" at emerging writers from around the country.

One-hour meetings are held every other week; we'll review and discuss the submissions handed out at the prior meeting as well distribute new submissions to be reviewed at the subsequent meeting. Total reading and prep time between meetings is approx 3-4 hours.

LEGAL / COPYRIGHT
==============================
Responsibility for developing the overall copyright policies and disclosures, as well as tailoring the Creative Commons license for the program. You do not have to be a lawyer or a member of the bar for this role (although it would be helpful); simple concern for the related issues is sufficient.

Preference will be given to those candidates that have a demonstrated interest in and/or experience with some aspect of what we are trying to accomplish. However, all qualified and highly motivated candidates are encouraged to apply. The minimum expected commitment would be through the end of year, although longer participation can be accomodated (and would be appreciated).

Please e-mail your resume and cover page to ... staffing@voicesradio.com... and indicate in the subject line which position you are interested in.

We look forward to hearing from you!
